I thought I’d share my most memorable time as a Delta Gamma collegiate member at Zeta Omicron at Wilfrid Laurier University. During my first initiated term, I was Director of Fundraising and we were holding our annual Pastapalooza, which is an all you can eat spaghetti dinner. It was my first major event, and I was very nervous. I ran back and forth and encountered some major problems; however, at the end of the day I was so blown away by the kindness and hard work all the women around me had shown. Everyone had encouraging words to say about me and my efforts. We even raised more money than in previous years! I will never forget the support of my sisters, all of whom were just getting to know me. We were all united under to raise money for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) and together we achieved that goal!

I believe in giving any way you can. Your time, hard work and donations are all equally important and charities need all three of those things to succeed. For the past 7 years I have works very closely with The Canadian Cancer Society. I have canvased door-to-door, sold daffodils and participated in the Relay for Life. Knowing that you are making a difference is very rewarding and i'm so happy that my sisters have been supporting The Canadian Cancer Society with me. Whether it was participating in Laurier's Relay for Life, donating to my team or sending me positive vibes and good wishes I know they truly care. On of my favorite parts about being a Delta Gamma is that everyone is so willing to "Do Good" any and every time they can.

One of my favourite experiences with DG Foundation was the Golden Anchor Program as a collegiate. I have always had a special place in my heart for the elderly and they have so many stories you can learn from. The Delta Gammas went to a local retirement home in Waterloo and knocked on the resident’s room doors and invited them to the games room. We spend a couple hours playing games and I became the best of friends with a woman named Pearl over Chinese Checkers. She was so feisty! DG made spending time with these wonderful people more accessible and easier and definitely memorable. It always feels great to Do Good.
