Toronto Founders Day & Tour
On June 22nd, 2017 we were given the great opportunity to receive a private tour of the Art Museum of the University of Toronto; guided by the Curatorial Staff. The exhibit being shown was titled "It's All Happening So Fast", curated by Mirko Zardini, CCA Director. The exhibit takes a critical look at the complex relationship between industry and the Canadian landscape. Our guided tour was proceeded by a private reception by Donald Ainslie, Principal of University College in the historic Bissell House.
The Gallery gave us private use of the Delta Gamma Art Gallery to start off our evening. We participated in our Founder's Day ritual; creating a sacred environment in a special spot for us Delta Gammas.
This was a wonderful opportunity to have our sisters together in our Delta Gamma Gallery celebrating ritual, and learning more about Canadian art. This event wouldn't have been possible without the amazing staff at the Art Museum of the University of Toronto as well as University College's Principle Donald Ainslie.
Walk for Dog Guides in Waterloo Park and Brunch
On May 27th, 2017 Delta Gamma Toronto Alumnae Association created a team for the Pet Value Walk for Dog Guides in Waterloo Park! Delta Gammas and their favourite pups raised money and took a stroll to benefit the Lion's Club Dog Guides! It was a lovely morning of Doing Good (and playing with adorable puppies) followed by brunch.
Heffel Fine Art Auction
On November 24th 2016 the Delta Gamma Toronto Alumnae attended an exclusive, guided preview of the Heffel Fine Art Auction House’s November sale, which was on view at the University of Toronto Art Centre. The preview featured an extraordinary and rarely viewed collection of Canadian Art held by private owners. As part of the evening, Donald Ainslie, Principal of University College at the University of Toronto invited our members to a private reception in the historic Principal's residence, Bissel House (attached to University College).
